Great stories this week, 2–8 November

Graphic novels4 min read

The new graphic novels this week, 2–8 November, that we could confirm are Dark Horse's Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch, Rogue Agents trade paperback on 3 November. Image's The Deviant Deluxe HC is listed for 4 November, though that date may have moved. Fantagraphics' The Abyss of Oblivion is our pick, though its exact on-sale date is unconfirmed.

It is a thin week for confirmed dates, and a good one for anyone who likes to know what is certain and what is not. If you are new to the formats, our guide to the graphic novel and comic difference is a useful starting point, and last week's edition is the previous weekly round-up.

Our pick to read: The Abyss of Oblivion

The Abyss of Oblivion is by Paco Roca and Rodrigo Terrasa. It is a historical graphic novel about Spain's past and its resistance to fascism, published by Fantagraphics. The publisher's preview gives only November 2026, so the on-sale date is not confirmed and the book may or may not land in this particular week.

Fantagraphics notes a starred Kirkus review for the book. That is the publisher's own pointer, and the review itself is not checked here. Readers who like history told in pictures may also want to look at Maus and the graphic novel for another take on the form.

If you want something stranger, there is Sherlock Time by Alberto Breccia and Héctor Germán Oesterheld, a sci-fi crime serial. Julio Luna, an Argentine retiree, is saved from a real estate deal and then travels through time and space with a mysterious figure. Fantagraphics also lists it for November 2026 with no exact date.

Which new graphic novels are out this week?

Two Star Wars items are dated 3 November. Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch, Rogue Agents is a Dark Horse Comics trade paperback that collects all four issues of the comic series. The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, by Phil Szostak from Abrams Books, is an art book rather than a graphic novel, so treat it as a companion for fans, not a story to read. Two LEGO Star Wars activity books from HarperCollins carry the same date.

Image's The Deviant Deluxe HC, by James Tynion IV and Joshua Hixson, is listed for 4 November. The listing we found is dated September and its visible title reads Summer 2026, so the date may have moved.

Fantagraphics' November slate is broader but undated. It includes Bedford Street by Ross Murray, a darkly comic graphic novel about interwoven residents of one street; NOW #14, edited by Eric Reynolds; Nocturnal Whispers by Bong Redila; and The Marvel Creator Collection No. 2, the complete Jim Steranko Marvel work in two volumes.

One bookseller list also names graphic novels with no dates: Tripping Over You: Volume Three (First Second), Dream Girl Disaster (IDW), Our Aimless Nights: Volume Two (Random House Graphic), My Life as an Internet Novel, Volume Three (Ink Pop), Luck of the Draw (Little, Brown) and Trove (HarperCollins).

Are these release dates confirmed?

Not fully. Star Wars dates are listed as subject to change. The Image and Marvel dates for 4 and 11 November come from a September listing, so they may have moved. UK dates are not covered by the sources we opened, so readers in Britain should check a local retailer before buying. The Star Wars items in this window are print releases, and we did not confirm any film or series premiering from 2–8 November.

Just after this edition's window, on 11 November, are The Book of Boba Fett 5, a comic adaptation written by Rodney Barnes and drawn by Will Sliney; Unfinished Tales HC by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, described as a new original graphic novel; Planet of the Apes vs. Fantastic Four by Josh Trujillo; and The Rocketeer: The Island from IDW. Only the Boba Fett date comes from the more recent Star Wars listing.

Later in November, Smugglers and Scoundrels: The Race for Jabba's Bounty, by Cavan Scott and Christian Colbert, is dated 17 November as the first entry in a canon graphic novel line from Mad Cave Studios. Star Wars Insider: Rebellion, a deluxe hardcover marking the 10th anniversary of Rogue One, is also dated 17 November, and The Fall of Kylo Ren issue 4, by Charles Soule and Will Sliney, is dated 18 November.
